hello world! this is my first post, of what i hope and intend to be a blog of substance and honesty. i will post every other week alternating between the events of my life and a reflection on some sort of apologetics. so for this first post, lets start with life.

ive been in peru for two and a half weeks now and its already quite evident that this is going to be some kind of cray cray experience! i know God has called me here to serve, but im only beginning to understand His motivations to call me here to, plainly, better our personal relationship. im learning that in this time, i must not only serve the Jesus on the street, but also the Jesus in my family. im surrounded here by 40+ family members, all of whom are Catholic only in name. it is discouraging and disheartening that they don't understand my reasons for coming or how i intend to spend my time here; but they are being supportive and loving in the best ways they know. within the first week of being here, my tia hilda, offered me a job at the tshirt shop she manages. it doesnt pay that much and ill have to find another job to make a living, but in the mean time im really enjoying getting to meet all the randomn tourist that come in. cusco is a special place, in that it attracts a certain type of tourist, and they come from all over the world! ive met more australians and europeans these past two weeks than all the tourist ive encountered from the western hemisphere combined. my spanish is coming along rather well, and my family tells me that each time i come visit my spanish has improved. every now and then, though, ill be saying a word and my mouth just doesnt form to make the right sound, and it just comes out all discombobulated but it does provide for a great
